How to get from Prague Airport to Hradec Kralove?
You can take a special bus called Airport Express. This bus will take you fastest way through Prague to the Main Railway station ("Hlavni nadrazi").
This bus stop will have a sign AE and you will find it right in front of the Terminal building. The bus departs every 15 minutes and it takes around 30 minutes to get to the Main Railway station.
You can buy ticket only directly from the driver. The cost is 60 CZK, luggage is free of charge. You can pay only in CZK, so please change some money at the Terminal building. Railway station is the last bus stop called Hlavni nadrazi.
At the railway station
Please enter the building, go downstairs and find a place called "ČD centrum". Here you can buy your ticket. Find a window with sign Domestic lines ("Vnitrostátní jízdenky"). Your task is to ask for a single ticket to Hradec Králové [hradets kra:love:].
After you bought a ticket, you can check information board with departure times. You can get oriented by train numbers, which is the first information from left side on the information board.
You need to check a platform number, which is the second information from right side.The last on the right is delay time, if your train is delayed, just wait, it is quite common. When it's time, go through an underground passage to your platform. To get there, follow blue signs "Nástupiště" (Platform). The journey from Prague railway station to Hradec Kralove takes about 1h 40min.
In Hradec Kralove
From the railway station (bus stop HLAVNI NADRAZI) you can get to Palachova dormitory (bus stop PALACHOVA) by bus number 24 (it takes 18 minutes) and 24R (it takes 12 minutes). You will find the bus stop right in front of the railway station.
I cannot come on 29th May because I need to pass my exams. Can I come later?
Yes, there should not be a problem with that. You can come few days later and spend e.g. 20 or 14 days in the heart of Europe instead of 28 days. The only thing you need to do is to let us know by when you would like to come. Please contact us on the email ssis@uhk.cz by April 30th. We need to prepare a contract for you and book flight tickets as well.
How much is SSIS?
It is free of charge, paid a grant from Norway. The tuition-fee, transportation, accommodation, full board and the trips that are organized by the faculties in modules are included in the grant. Find out more about expenses.

How much are the public transport fares in Hradec Kralove?
